The Ironwood
Carnegie Library attempts
to Pick the Pocket of Township Residents
Still angry that Wal-mart moved to the Township and
not the City. Bruce Noren and other library members have
made a ridiculous counter offer to The Ironwood Charter
Township, hoping to get some of those Wal-mart revenues
for themselves. Using what they term as bargain price is
just not so. The Township can obtain much cheaper
Library Fees from Bessemer. Noren however, who is also a
township property owner is playing on the close
relationship between the common name communities.
At the previous joint special meeting the Library
played the role of an under funded poor stepchild.
Again, this is not the case. The Carnegie Library Board
didn't blink an eye at spending over $27,000. for the
ill-fated Renovation Tax Proposal, as much as the
amount that the Librarian Elaine Erickson spent on
library books. Ironwoodinfo is investigating why the
$27,000 wasn't returned to the taxpayers, including the
township taxpayers, after the voters said no by more
than a 2 to 1 margin. The alleged "Friends of the
Library" have a significant Bank Account. They wanted
the renovation project, not the taxpayers. We believe
either the City of Ironwood or the "Not so Friendly
Friends of the Library" should return the $27,000.
Attempts to reach Noren have been in vain. Bruce Noren
has in the past told this reporter he never answers
anything in writing. No need to wonder why!
Noren and his city council puppets are currently
squandering city taxes and water fees. If they have so
little regard for city taxpayers just how much do they
think of wasting Township revenues?
