The 54th Annual Fine Art Show

The Bessemer Blast Just Got Better

The Range Art Association is presenting its 54th annual fine art show in Bessemer this year. The show is being presented as part of the 2009 Bessemer Blast. The show is being hosted in the Bessemer Heritage Center located on South Sophie Street. The Heritage Center makes an excellent venue for the eighty plus  wonderful works of art on display there. The show demonstrates  just how many talented artists there are in the Range area.

On my visit to the show I met artists Pat DiLuria, Deanna Kennedy and Marie Swartz. All of whom introduced me to the exhibit and brought me up to speed on their art association.

Deanna  Kennedy exhibited her terrific oil painting "Peace of Mind"  , Marie Swartz  is displaying a great  mixed medium painting, "Fantasy Forest, a watercolor painting, "Spring Walk", and another mixed medium, "Spring is Here". Pat DiLuna displayed a mixed medium painting "The Flowage",  and a beautiful watercolor "Lupine". All are these art pieces are shown below in the photo gallery

The show presents art work in five divisions, Oil and Acrylics, Mixed Medium, Photography, Watercolor, Pastels and the Honors Group.

The Honors Group is a display of art created by the groups original members. Those on display include: Helen Sandell, Zera Tabachi, Gertrude Kaari,  Lyme Mattson, Betty Mikulich, Melba Rigoni,  Irene Nevala,  Inez Carpenter, Dorothy Silkworth Kuula, Lois Netz,  Luci Jochen,  Eleanor Aho, and Myrna Kangas.
 

Members of Range Art Association displaying work will be: Suzanne Vittone, Helmi Anderson, Judy Lake, Carol Linn, Alice Manki, Gail Kniska, Pat DiLuna, Mark Elsemore, Marie Swartz, Deanna Kennedy, Kathy Rooni, Phyllis Leinonen and
Cy Sorrels.

Non member artists are also participating in this great show, they are:  Heather Pelkola, Valerie Reed, Minnie Malaga, Julie Wood, Irene Haller, Jill Halberg, Sandra Stella, Betsy Wesselhoft, Joan Stephens, Janelle Edwards, Jane Schmaltz, Kenneth Drawz, Susan Aschenbrenner Celeste Sullivan and Dan Perotti.

This terrific show is open from June 26th through July 5th the hours ar 9:30 am to 3:00pm. You certainly don't want to miss this art event.

There will be an artist reception on July 3rd from 10:00am to 12:00pm
