Gogebic Range Concert Band and
Present Oldies But Goodies Night on the Mall
Ironwood - August 11, 2009
Great music great vintage automobiles and summer like weather all
came together in Longyear Park last night. The Gogebic Range Concert
Band played "Those Oldies But Goodies" and the Klassic Kruisers
displayed those "Oldies But Goodies" at the annual 50's night
concert at Longyear.
Finally, Mother Nature provided
a perfect summer evening for people to come to the park and enjoy
the great music provided by the Gogebic Range Concert Band.
The night was also perfect for putting the soft tops down on the
Kruisers collector's cars.
The crowd that came to enjoy the sights and sounds
of the fifties was the largest crowd to come to a concert this
season. Whether they came to enjoy the cars or the music they
certainly weren't to be disappointed.
This was the best band concert so far this season and of course the
"Klassy Kars" of the Klassic Kruisers are always a treat.
The GRCB performed the following songs:
St. Louis Blues, A Fifties Time Capsule, In The Mood, Tequila,
Tijuanna Brass, Music From Grease, Don't Mean a Thing, Night
Train, That's a Plenty, Beer Barrel Polka, Old Time Rock 'n' Roll,
Cartoon Symphony, Beatles Medley, Happy Days, Swings the Thing, and
God Bless America
