Fashion Showcased At Finlandia University

HANCOCK - The Art and Design students at Finlandia University produced a Fashion Show in conjunction with Thursday's Juried Art Exhibit. The evening included a reception for the young artists and designers.

This year’s reception was well attended. By the time the Fashion Show began the Gallery was filled to capacity. Likewise, a standing room only audience gathered to witness this year’s fashions designed by Finlandia’s very talented Fiber Arts and Design Majors.

In addition to modeling one of her own fashion designs Sarah Anderson had other pieces modeled by: Amanda Moyer, Lana Bosak, and Stephanie Trevino.

Amanda Moyer designed and modeled a dress that was created from 24 men’s neckties which she had hand sewn together.

As usual babies and kids will steal the show every time. Model Madeline Rose turned one year old at midnight, and designer Audrey Chamberlin designed her fashion wear for herboth son Griffin and herself.

The students bring to the school a great deal of young talent. Their talent is then nurtured and structured by a fantastic faculty. We look forward to all our visits to University’s Gallery and the Reflection Gallery at the Jutila Campus, and we have never been disappointed. The Hancock-Houghton-Calumet area is a Mecca of art culture and Finlandia University stands at its center.
