Fusion Fest 2009

Finlandia University International School  of Art & Design hosted its second "Fusion Fest" Saturday at the university's Portage Campus.

There were many Fusion Fest activities  including art booths, community painting, tie-dying, hot-from-the-grill hot dogs and bratwurst, a bake sale, art exhibitions and art sales, glassblowing, and other activities and art demonstrations.

The day was filled with demonstrations and musical treats performed by local bands.

Fusion Fest is a festival blending art and music. pictured above is "On The Spot Blues" one terrific blues band. Other bands performing throughout the day were Gratiot Lake Band  and The Pasi Cats. 

A community dance followed at 6:00 p.m.

Fusion Fest proceeds will help Finlandia University art and design students travel to Chicago for the annual Self Employment in the Arts conference.
