Ironwood - January 12, 2010 The Ironwood Township held its
first meeting of the new year last night. A large audience
assembled expecting m to witness a visit from the Ironwood
Librarian, Elaine Erickson or a confrontation by Tom Schneller
relative to his failed bid on the upcoming sewer project.
Neither event took place. Mrs. Erickson was a no show. She
neither appeared nor contacted the Township Office that she
would not appear. Elaine was to appear at the meeting to bring
the Township up-to-date on the library and how the city folk are
spending the Township’s money.
A Daily Globe staff writer was on hand to give the library
some more positive spin for the upcoming, yet to be announced
tax attack against the already over taxed City dwellers. Sorry
Margaret, maybe next time.
Tom Schneller was on hand to bring the Township Board
up-to-date on the Water project. Weather permitting, the project
will reach Grandview within a couple weeks. U.P. Winter Weather
that is!
The bids on the sewer project came in $400,000 under the
available federal funding. God news once again for the Township.
The board voted to create a committee to find other areas in the
township where the sewer project could be expanded to.
