| Ashland, WI - July 22, 2009 Ashland's Bay Days took place this past week providing visitors 
          with five days of fun and excitement. The activities stared Wednesday 
          with a sidewalk sale on Maxwell Street and Craft and food vendors 
          along Lakeshore Drive. The festivities continued through to Sunday 
          afternoon's Hometown Talent Show.  In between Wednesday and Sunday there was a lot of everything you might 
      expect to find at a festival such as Bay Days. Music, dancing, food, 
      contest, athletic competitions and shows of all types.  Arts & Crafts, Retail Vendors and food booths were on the festival 
      grounds all day Saturday and Sunday. At 10 am the Mud Rutter's Off Road 
      Bike Race took place at Prentice Park.

 From 10 am until dusk there were seaplane rides at Bayview drive.
 There was a Pie Eating Contest which was divided into three classes, 
      Toddlers (3-6) Youth (7-12) & Adult (13 & older) 
 Later in the day the beach would be the scene of a cardboard boat race. 
      There were many activities for kids, particularly at the 4H Club's Kids 
      Activity tent. Later Saturday there was a show in the Big Tent "Kids Say 
      The Darndest Things" show.
 
 From 2pm until 6 pm, the Chequamegon Health & Fitness Center sponsored a 
      very popular event the "Strongest Man on the Bay" Contest.
 There was lots of music and dances; including Chequamegon Area Dance, The 
      Oredock Memorial Jazz, Shunka & Waka Sakuda, Taiko Drum & Dance Dance,  
      and the Northland Lumberjack Choir The music apex came  Saturday 
      evening with the "Bay Area Battle of the Bands", which was previously 
      reported on by IronwoodInfo. Bay Days Saturday Finale came at 11 pm with a 
      grand Fireworks Show.
