Huskies Brian Stetter Wins Men's
U.P. Cross Country Championship

  Marquette - October 12, 2009

Michigan Tech wound up in first place in the Men's Division followed by Lake Superior State. There was no third place team as FInlandia and GCC had an insufficient number of runners to qualify in the scoring. Oddly enough, NMU did not field a men's team, although several NMU runners entered in the open class.

The Upper Peninsula Cross Country Championship took place Friday afternoon at the NMU Country Club.  Brian Stetter from Michigan Tech once again took first place. Brian's time was 23:54;  he was followed by Jamie Cihak (open) who ran a time of  24:47. Cihak is a NMU student, however, NMU does not have a men's cross country team. Ken Gilkerson from  Michigan Tech ran a  25:08 to finish third

Michigan Tech runners placed eleven runners in the top twenty finishers.
