Holiday Concert a  Huge Success

Students in grades PK through grade 12 got to experience what performing to a standing room only audience felt like. Tuesday evening the students of Wakefield Marenisco School District held their Christmas Concert in the school gymnasium which was filled to capacity. The might be described as small school district  had a a huge turnout for the concert. Friends and family poured into the school in an amazing display of support, not uncommon for the W-M school District.  Tuesday was not the first Christmas Concert for this school district, but it was the inaugural concert for Sandra Genisot, the new music director at Wakefield/Marenisco.

Mrs. Genisot mixed up the music to provide for a variety of Christmas songs as well as non-holiday favorites. The evening's performance was a big success.

The first grade students sang "Decorate the Tree" and "If I could Fly Like a Snowflake". They were then joined by the  second grade students and performed "Feliz Navidad".

The first grade students then left the stage  and the second graders sang "Nice, Nice Christmas" and Santa Claus Is On His Way".

The third grade students then performed three terrific songs, Marshmellow World", "Nuttin' For Christmas" and "Joy to The World" (Think 1970's here!). Cool very cool!

After rockin' the gymnasium, the third graders were joined by the fourth grade students and sang "Peace On Earth"

The third grade students left the stage and the fourth graders sang "Hip Hop Turkeys" and "We Go Together". That would end the singing portion of the concert. The Fifth Grade Band then performed to the overflowing audience. They played "Good King Wenceslas" and "Jolly Old St. Nicholas".

Following their performance the Sixth Grade Band then played "Christmas Stomp" and Jingle Bells".

The Junior-Senior High Band closed the evening great concert playing three songs, "The Chipmonk Song", Cartoon Christmas" and Angels Rock".
