Basketball Wizardry at E-T.C

Ewen-Trout Creek School, Saturday,  September 27, 2008

The long awaited Harlem Wizard exhibition games took place Saturday during the Annual Ewen Log Jamboree. There were two games played  the first at 4:00 PM and a second game at 7:00 PM. The games were fundraising events, produced by the E-TC Elementary School  Booster Club. The games were great fun even for those of us who are not necessarily basketball fans.
The Wizard MC was :The Voice - Thompson" and the MC for the Loggers was Mr. Ted "The Biker" Trudgeon.
A you-tube video is available at the E-TC Panther-Vision Website   http://www.panthervision.org/1.html
Practice makes perfect, but Wizard's don't seem too concerned as they watch "the Logger's" breaking out in a sweat during pre-game practice.
Photo above is the Home Team "The Loggers"  members of the Loggers included Brad Besonen, Jacky Besonen, Angela Berglund, Josh Schott, Allie Gustafson, Mike Nordine, Chase Leskela, Christian Fors, Kelsey Fors, Dusty Fors, Cliff Kolinski, Joe Rimkus, Andy Borseth, Jim LaFernier, Tommy Legault, Richard Matrella, Heather Sawaski, Mike Ludlum, Stosh Pole, Hank Pole, Dale Gordon, Tyler Gordon.  The Logger's coach was Brad Besonen, who has obviously been around a basket ball before. The logger's players all have basketball resumés and performed well. The Wizrd team consisted of No.5 "Broadway" Eno Jones stands at 6'2" tall, No.33 "DP"  David Paul 6'6",  No24. "The Rocket" Rashaan Barun 6',  No.21 Solomon Bamiro "The King" 6'5", No.9 Arnold Bernard  "A-Train"  5'6", and No.45 "Big Mike" who stands 6' 10" tall,

Big Surprises come in small packages - That's the coach's wife Jacky Besonen, the kindergarten Teacher at E-TC.
She's used to kid's stuff!  So watch out Big Mike!

Heather Sewaski, watches another three pointer sail in  for the Loggers !

Above Rocket Man, No. 24 puts up another free throw. These guys seldom miss the free throws.

Half Time Fun. Kids stand in a circle surrounding "Broadway", who will toss the ball (sometimes) to one of the kids. If they miss the ball they are eliminated from the game. Each time someone misses the crowd yells "You Been Had!"  Not to worry though each of the participants leaves the court with a Wizard poster. They had a great time. Some the boys showed great reflects and did quite well. Were you watching Coach?
Keep your eye on the ball - Broadway does some Razzle Dazzle to catch kids off guard.. However, the young lady below gave the Wizards and the crowd a big laugh when she gave Broadway what for! As the winner she received a Wizard Basket Ball and a Poster.

The sign says it all! Home team led at half time by 10 points.
