Opening Reception for Finlandia Faculty Exhibit

Hancock - February 22, 2009

Thursday evening the Finlandia University's International School of Art and Design held an opening reception to mark the opening of the faculty exhibit at the Finlandia University Gallery.

The must see exhibit is located in the Finnish American Heritage Center, Hancock and will runfrom last Thursday through March 20, 2009.

As our readers are well aware IronwoodInfo has been bringing you coverage from Finlandia since last years Fusionfest. We visited Finlandia for the first time to at that time to see the art work of the University's very talented students. Since then, we have  provided coverage of exhibits of many, many  talented artists. Many of these artist were students enrolled in the school's International School of Art and Design. We have never been disappointed that we made the trip to Hancock. But, last Thursday's exhibit was the greatest yet. Viewing the work displayed for this exhibit it is no wonder why the School's students are developing into terrific artists. Their professors and instructors are fantastic! If you enjoy great art and don't wish to travel hundreds of miles to view it, then you owe it to yourself to visit this current exhibit.  As a bonus, you can also go to the Portage Campus and see the current student exhibit at the Reflections Gallery.

There is art to everyone's liking as this year’s exhibit features the work of nine full-time and adjunct I.S.A.D. faculty members. Ceramics, sustainable design, painting and drawing, fiber art, interactive media, and photography are some of the mediums represented.

As you might expect, a very large number of art admirers were at the gallery to enjoy the opening of this exceptional exhibit.
