Ironwood Public

Conduct Annual Bicycle Safety Day |

Saturday was a a beautiful Northwood's summer day, filled with
many community events, as is usual this time of year. The day
couldn't have been any better for the 108 kids that showed up for
this year's Bicycle Safety Day. It was an even sunnier day for the
30 kids who left the IPSD building with brand new bicycles.

Each year the members of the Ironwood Public Safety Department
host the event intended to promote Bicycle Safety. When asked when
the event originated, no one knew exactly, however, this very
worthwhile endeavor goes back a long long way. |

At yesterday's inspection, 108 kids registered and had their

many sponsors of this years event. Each boy and girl that attended

In addition to those who donated money and prizes for the event, it
should be noted that members of American Legion Post 5 donated and
served hot dogs and other treats to those in attendance.
