Wet But Wonderful page 2

The youngsters in the Bessemer Band were caught in good downpour as they waited for the marchers in front of them to move on. Marty’s Goldenaires also found themselves in a similar situation.

Fortunately for the spectators who stayed until the parade’s finish, they were able to enjoy the music from all four bands in the parade. The fourth band in the parade was the Wakefield-Marenisco Band. They did a great job. This was their first parade appearance since 2008. Everyone was excited to see them return to the festivities. Their float had a couple of guest musicians on board, see if you recognize them.

Some things never change, rain or shine. Notice the look on the boys' faces watching the Cardinal Cheerleaders.

There were many floats in this year’s parade in spite of the bad weather. The Klassic Kruisers entered a great float representing the area’s heritage. Like many of the parade participants, the Kruisers had to go home, dry off and freshen up for the Bessemer Parade that would follow in just a few short hours. So did this rain drenched reporter!
