Laborfest Car Show Outshines Weather

Story and photos by Linda Graham

ONTONAGON - While the weather was cool and wet the Ontonagon Labor Day Car Show was Beautiful and Hot. The Weather may have curtailed vendors that normally line the street, it did not curtail the car show participants.

Hot coffee was the big hit in the morning.

Though the day started out cold, the sun did manage to come out and it warmed up to only 58 degrees. The Laborfest Auto Show coordinators, Terry and Vauna Syndram and music provider DJ Tracey Flye a.k.a. Rewind were all set up and ready to go by 8:00. The Maxwell Street days vendors were low in number this year but it seems Camp One (even without a building) attracted a lot of people.

Best of Show went to:  Calvin Kostamo and Janet Raymond  1935 4 door Graham

A total of 49 cars (including one motorcycle) registered for the car show and there were 7 unregistered (even though it is FREE registration). Pictures this year are of some of the first timers to the Ontonagon Laborfest Auto Show.

A BIG THANK YOU to all the car owners who did come and take part in this year's show.
