| Freshman lawmaker to serve on four House committees
State Rep. Matt Huuki will serve as vice chair of the
House Natural Resources, Tourism and Outdoor Recreation
Committee, and will be a member of three additional
committees, Speaker Jase Bolger announced on Jan. 12 as
lawmakers were sworn into office for the first day of
the 2011-12 legislative session.
“I’m honored to have such a prominent role on a
committee that means so much to our local communities,”
said Huuki, of Atlantic Mine. “Our state’s natural
resources and beauty play a huge role in what makes
Michigan so special, so balancing their use and
enjoyment to improve our economy and job climate has to
be a solution to our challenges.” |

a bill, lawmakers decide whether to recommend, amend or
