Some pups and their owners arrived early Saturday
morning, and it was off for their walk through an area that
surrounded the shopping center. At times it was difficult to
tell who was walking who; we all know how that goes.
They, the dogs were so anxious to go hiking that they
didn’t wait for their Police Protection. Ironwood Safety
Director, Andrew DiGiorgio had prepared a safe route for the
participants. Safety Markers were placed along the short
stretch of US 2 that the dogs would walk. A police cruiser
was placed to the east of Camp K-9 to slow down traffic.
There’s nothing like a police cruiser to slow down
aggressive drivers.
The Hound Dog Hike was a daylong event where dogs and
their owners arrived throughout the day for the two mile
hike.
