Football Back in Win Column
Tech's football team earned a 24-10 victory at Northwood last Saturday, Oct. 22, to improve to 5-3. The Huskies defense held the Timberwolves to zero passing yards in the contest. Tech continues to own the best defense in the GLIAC by allowing teams just 17.4 points and 281 yards per game.

Hockey Huskies Back Home for Next Four
Michigan Tech returns to the Student Ice Arena for its next four hockey games after being defeated in two tight games at Bemidji State last weekend. The Huskies welcome No. 3-ranked Denver for 7:07 p.m. faceoffs both Friday and Saturday, Oct. 28 and 29. Tech is 4-0-0 at home this season.

2-0 Weekend for Soccer
The Michigan Tech soccer team won both of its final two home games. Tech scored a school-record five goals to defeat Northwood 5-1 Friday, Oct. 21. Katie Boardman recorded a school record six points with two goals and two assists in the match. Tech added a 3-0 shutout over Saginaw Valley State Sunday, Oct. 23. The Huskies now have seven wins, matching their total from last season.

Women's Basketball Sees First Action Saturday
The women's basketball team opens its season with an exhibition game at Green Bay Saturday, Oct. 29. The team returns two starters and 11 letterwinners from last year's national runner-up squad.

Cross Country Teams Each Ninth
Both the men's and women's cross country teams finished ninth at the GLIAC Cross Country Championships Saturday, Oct. 22, in Ashland, Ohio. Marissa Yovetich led the women with an 18th place finish in the six-kilometer race (23:28). Jani Lane finished 50th (27:23) in the men's eight-kilometer race.

Polar Bear Cookbook

Thank you to everyone who submitted recipes for the Polar Bear Hockey Cookbook. The cookbooks are now available. The cost for the cookbooks are $10.00 so make sure to grab one for yourself and maybe one or two as a gift. They can be purchased at the Pat O'Donnel Civic Center concession stand or by contacting Kerry Roehm or Micki Sorensen.
