The City of Ironwood is interested in working with the Gogebic Range Water Authority and Ironwood Township and feels a reasonable agreement is achievable.

In order to continue with the development of an agreement to lease/purchase the new 16 inch water main on Lake Street between Margaret Street and Slade Road a number of items and terms need to be addressed; an example of some of these are:

  1. A formal agreement clearly detailing all of the parameters of the agreement will need to be drafted and reviewed by the Gogebic Range Water Authority (GRWA), Ironwood Township and the City of Ironwood.
  2. The actual cost of the construction of the 16 inch water main will need to be established before an agreement can be fully considered.
  3. Contractor construction costs need to be agreed upon between the GRWA, City of Ironwood and Snow Country Contracting to insure fiscal accountability and to also insure concurrence between all parties that the construction and subsequent purchase price is acceptable to all parties.

IRONWOOD BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Public Hearing will be held by the Ironwood Board of Zoning
Appeals on Monday, September 28, 2009 beginning at 5:20 PM, City Commission Chambers,
2nd Floor, Memorial Building, 213 S. Marquette St., Ironwood, Michigan.

The purpose of the hearing is to hear comment regarding a request by John and Patricia
Alexandroni for a dimensional variance property currently owned by Rita Franzoi, defined as
parcel # 27-52-22-179-010 (southeast corner of Arch and Suffolk Streets). The variance request
is to allow a new garage addition onto an existing house (207 E. Arch Street), and allow a
building to encroach on the rear lot line setback by 24.5 feet and allow a lot depth of 55 feet.

Interested persons will have the opportunity to be heard at the time and place announced in this
notice. No hearsay or individual surveys will be accepted as testimony; only written or oral
presentations will be acknowledged. Written comments can be submitted to the Ironwood Board
of Zoning Appeals, Memorial Building, 213 S. Marquette Street, Ironwood, MI 49938, prior to the
scheduled Public Hearing; they may also be faxed to (906) 932-5745 or e-mailed to
petersend@cityofironwood.org. A copy of the request is on file and available for public
inspection in the Community Development Office, Memorial Building, 213 S. Marquette St.,
Ironwood, MI during normal business hours (7:30AM to 4:00PM).
