Santa Arrives In Ontonagon
Ontonagon - December 9, 2009

Santa arrived in Ontonagon Sunday evening just in time for the Annual Christmas Parade. His first appearance this year came a top of an Ontonagon Fire Truck.  Imagine that! After the parade, Santa greeted a countless number of small fry who had gathered at the Fire Hall for the occasion.  While the lines were long, very long, but the kiddies were not dismayed. After all, what was a few minutes more after waiting a whole year to see the magical Santa.

Bessemer To Review Charter Revisions
Bessemer - December 8, 2009

The Bessemer City Council met in a regularly scheduled meeting last night. The council made first time appointments to several boards and commissions.

Marilyn Michelli was appointed to the Housing Commission. Joseph Dusterbeck was appointed to the Planning Commission and Marc Sprague was appointed to the Elected Officials Board.

2009 Jack Frost Parade

Ironwood - December 5, 2009

A much warmer crowd watched this year's parade. Temperatures hovered around around 12 degrees last night, more than twice last year's temperatures.

Parade watchers got to enjoy the gingerbread houses and Santa at the River Valley Bank, and the Historic Ironwood Theatre welcomed visitors with their open house.

Leading the parade this year was grand parade marshals the Gogebic Range Trail Authority.

For the first time, the parade had a junior parade marshals, the Ice Crystals. The Ice Crystals were selected since they fit in perfectly with this year’s theme.
