Bessemer
- Creating a Vision |
 |
Tuesday evening more than 130 people
gathered in the Bessemer City Hall
Auditorium. The Town Hall Meeting was the
first of three meetings that will produce a
vision for Bessemer in the future. Warren
Rauhe an associate professor at MSU spoke to
the enthusiastic audience about the Small
Town Initiative Program. Bessemer has been
selected by MSU for the program.
Interestingly, the program is very different
than the Blueprints program that Ironwood
has entered into and the Main Street program
that Calumet is under taking, and yet all
three approaches began with the same first
step. That is an introspective analysis of
each community by it's residents.

New
Library For The Township ? |
 |
Ironwood Township - November 10, 2009
The Ironwood Township Board of Trustees
met last evening in a regularly scheduled
meeting. There were two main issues
addressed at this session.
The first was a presentation by Tom
Schneller, who updated to the board on the
water/sewer projects going on in the Charter
Township. According to Tom the project is on
target although that didn’t appear to be the
case two weeks ago, when bad weather slowed
the project considerably. However, the
recent change in the weather has allowed the
project to gain lost time.

Illegal
Signs In Township |
.jpg) |
Ironwood Township - November 10, 2009
The November 3rd election is already a week
past, and yet the Richard Simmons recall
signs remain illegally placed on the
right-a-ways of the county roads. It seems
that Larry, Curly and Moe may have forgotten
where the signs were abandoned. Or did they?
The signs amazingly remain on the route
between the home of Township Supervisor Kim
Mattson and the Township Office.

commonly reserved for Barnum and Bailey, the

the victors, the group took its place upon
the dais.
